Album Making 101: A 4-Class Series

Learn how to create a handmade album from beginning to end! During this 4-class series, we’ll build an album structure, create four signatures of interactive pages, and explore decorating techniques.

Final album dimensions: 6½" × 8½" with a 2½" spine.

Class fee includes:

• Chipboard
• Cardstock
• Double-sided tape
• Use of the classroom paper trimmers and scoring boards

Thursday, September 3

Week 1 – Building the Album

Wrap the chipboard, construct the album cover, and build and attach the spine.

Thursday, September 10

Week 2 – Interactive Elements & First Signature

Learn how to create pockets, flaps, photo mats, closures, and other interactive elements. Plan and build the first signature together.

Thursday, September 17

Week 3 – Second & Third Signatures

Use the techniques learned during Week 2 to design and build the remaining two signatures. Finish attaching all three signatures to the spine.

Thursday, September 24*

Week 4 – Decorating the Album

Learn how to select and coordinate papers, plan paper placement, mat photos, layer embellishments, and create a cohesive design throughout the album.

*Decorative paper and embellishments for final class are not included. For the final class, participants should bring decorative paper, or paper may be purchased at Twigs & Twine at the time of class.
